Smile design involves using cosmetic dentistry procedures to improve the aesthetic appearance of your smile. This may include whitening, straightening, reshaping, and closing gaps between your teeth. Colorless, crooked, misshapen, crooked, worn and missing teeth can be treated with smile aesthetics.

What are the types of smile design? ?

Although smile design is personal, there are generally popular tooth forms and smile types.

• Intellectual Smile(sophisticated smile)

It is a smile design that makes the person look mature and knowledgeable. It is generally preferred by middle-aged and older individuals.

• Sporty Smile

It is achieved by the central incisors being longer than the lateral incisors. It is a frequently preferred design style.

• Attractive Smile

It is frequently preferred by women. As a general concept, it is achieved by the front teeth being longer than the others.

Which treatments/procedures does smile design involve?

Aesthetic smile design; are dental treatments applied to change the shape, surface structure and color of the teeth. It includes veneer treatments such as laminate porcelain, full ceramic porcelain and laser whitening treatment, as well as lowering it to the gum level to provide pink aesthetics. While sometimes only one of these procedures may be sufficient, in some cases combinations of these treatments are required.

Smile designs are made digitally.

At the first examination of the patient;

• Digital impressions of your teeth are taken with an intraoral scanner.
• Photos are taken at appropriate angles in the photo studio.
• The patient is shown samples from the dental library and previous cases and the design that suits him/her is decided.
• Digital smile design is made with an intraoral scanner and the patient is presented with what the targeted smile design will look like when the treatment is completed.

At the patient’s second appointment;

• Necessary procedures on teeth and gums are performed.
• Digital impressions of your teeth are taken with an intraoral scanner.
• Temporary teeth are applied to the patient.

At the patient’s last appointment;

• Custom-made veneers are rehearsed.
• If agreed with the patient, the treatment is completed by gluing the porcelains.

After the end of treatment; The patient’s aesthetics and dental health are monitored with regular dentist checks at the 1st week, 1st month, 3rd month and every 6 months thereafter.
